Peggy Huppert
Executive Director

  • Supervises and directs all Iowa staff
  • Manages human resources for the campaign
  • Makes all administrative decisions
  • Develops contacts with Iowa business leaders and elected officials

Peggy, who is from Des Moines, has more than 20 years of experience leading nonprofits as an executive, communications and development director. She serves on the boards of three nonprofits and has been a volunteer with many political campaigns ranging from school board to president.

Dave Stone
Director of Grassroots Development

  • Supervises and directs Iowa field staff
  • Facilitates operation of field plan
  • Cultivates partnerships with other Iowa organizations
  • Maintains websites and develops e-alerts and newsletters

You may have seen Dave cruising around in the infamous Priorities Pie Mobile. A graduate of Iowa State University in Political Science, Dave has been active in local and national politics here in Iowa since 2002.  Working for presidential candidates and congressional candidates, Dave has helped organize and develop grassroots organizations across central Iowa.

Jessica Maass
Field Organizer

  • Coordinates vehicle scheduling and maintenance
  • Organizes state-wide bird-dogging effort

Jessica, a Des Moines native, earned her degree in Sociology with minors in Women’s Studies and Communications from the University of Northern Iowa.  She has interned with the Feminist Majority Foundation’s Get Out Her Vote Campaign in 2004 and was awarded the Undergraduate Social Action Award from Sociologists for Women and Society in 2005.  She is a longtime activist who has been involved with grassroots campaigns focusing on human rights, social justice, peace, and voter turnout.

Heidi Wessels

Communications Director

  • Communicates the Priorities message to local, state, and national media
  • Documents media coverage of the Priorities campaign
  • Develops and submits letters to the editor and opinion-editorial pieces

Heidi Wessels

Heidi, an Illinois native and graduate of Drake University, has 10 years of operations and strategic planning experience. She serves on several boards of area nonprofits and continues to be an advocate and fundraiser for many community organizations.
